Tours of Oxford
Discover Oxford with a tour through its beautiful streets (many of which are closed to motorized traffic) led by a fit, fun and knowledgeable guide. The Oxon Carts Guided Tour provides a uniquely memorable vantage point from which to see Oxford.
Our tour specialises in the history of Oxford University and its relationship with the rest of the city. But we’re not restricted to a pre-set route – you can choose where you want to go, and what you’d like to see – ours are the only fully-flexible Oxford tours! You can even start and finish your tour in different places, perhaps ending with an afternoon of punting.
At the start of your tour, you’ll be greeted by your friendly guide, and given a 1904 map of Oxford (don’t worry, it hasn’t changed much!). Your guide will ask if you have some particular sights in mind for your tour, however we do have a standard itinerary, just in case! You can also let us know in advance if you’d like your tour to take in specific parts of Oxford.
We’ve received really good reviews, and now the Oxon Carts Oxford Tour is featured in the 2009 Lonely Planet Guide to England:
"Oxon Carts runs a fleet of five pedicabs around Oxford's narrow lanes where the buses simply can't go. Passengers receive a copy of a 1904 map of the city and personal guide to its buildings and history."An hour-long guided tour costs £30 per carriage (for up to two adults).
You can also book one of our tantalising taster tours - £10 for a 15 minute spin...
Vouchers are available: a perfect present!
