Do you have a motor?
NO! We use pure pedal-power; we’re fuelled by breakfast, biscuits and cups of tea.
How may people can you carry?
Our bikes are designed to carry two adults in comfort. We insist the safety-belt be warn when passengers below the age of 12 travel with us and we recommend that all passengers use it.
Where are you based?
OxonCarts is based in OX2 and serves all the area within Oxford's ring-road. We can go further afield – then we do cheat by hiring a motor to carry the rickshaws!
How many rickshaws do you have?
We have 5 passenger rickshaws, and 3 delivery trikes.
Can I just jump on if I see you free?
Sadly, no. Due to current licensing restrictions all journeys need to be booked in advance by telephone (07747 024600) or by email.
Can I hire a rickshaw without a rider?
Sorry, no! Rickshaws are surprisingly peculiar to ride, so for everyone’s safety, we only allow trained riders to pedal our bikes.
Are rickshaws safe?
Rickshaws are very safe. Each of our passenger carriages is fitted with a seat belt, disc-brakes, headlights, brake lights and indicators and are piloted by specially trained riders. We pedal slowly and with comfort, not speed, our top priority.
What are your operating hours?
With suitable arrangement we can meet just about any requirement. All bookings must be made in advance however.
What happens if it rains?
We love rain. But in case you don’t share our passion, we carry rain covers to keep passengers completely dry.
